Progressive Dinner

The activities committee has planned an adult progressive dinner for Friday, April 23 at 6:30pm starting at the church with appetizers. From there we will split into groups for soup/salad and then off with another group to a different home for dinner. Following that, we will all join back at the church for dessert.

We are still needing to know those that would like to participate and those that would like to volunteer to bring an appetizer or dessert to the church and also host soup/salad or a dinner.

We are in need of people willing to host a dinner. You will be feeding 2-3 couples. The dinner doesn't need to be fancy or cost much. You may even want to join efforts with another couple and host a dinner together. Dinner can be simple as a sandwich spread, pizza, BBQ. Options are endless. We don't want your efforts to be complicated!

We want this activity to allow us to get to know others within the ward and strengthen friendships.

If you haven't already signed up, there will be a sign ups going around this Sunday. You can also email Sarah Cox at wardactivity6@yahoo.com. Let me know how many are attending and if you would like to volunteer for an appetizer, hosting soup/salad or dinner, and dessert. Thanks.

Side note: We have planned a service activity for next month. We have no one to serve. Does anybody have something that they would like help on? Don't be shy. Planting? Washing a car? Painting? Yard work? I can take a chain saw to a tree . Something to blow up? Please let Sarah know if you know someone (active, inactive, non-member) who would like service or if you need something. This is a family activity. It's a great way for the kiddos to learn service and maybe pass something off for YW/YM/Scouts.

Easter Egg Hunt

The Easter Egg Hunt was a lot of fun! The younger kids enjoyed picking up eggs. The older kids chewed gum and ran through a maze as they picked up eggs. The adults held an egg on a SPOON in their mouths. And then interesting enough, the kids took the uncooked eggs, threw them and watched them bounce. We would like to thank Lindsey & Blake Burton and Jill & Brandon Douglas for their help. It was MUCH appreciated!!

Coming up activities

This year is one full of fun activities. The following is what we have planned.

April 23 @ 6:30pm (Friday)... Adult Progressive Dinner
We will be sending around sign ups for those to participate and others to hold part of the course at their home. This will be a great time to learn more about those in your ward and have some fun.

May 15 (Saturday).... Service Project
If you know someone that is active, inactive, not a member... no limit on who needs the service, but we would like to have several projects to send groups to. This includes kids help. What a better way to spend time as a family and teach a kid to serve?! I know one of mine could use the experience. Email me at wardactivity6@yahoo.com for suggestions.

June 26 (Saturday)... BBQ & a little competitive kickball (RS vs. Elders??) at the Park
Who doesn't love a BBQ? We also thought that it would be fun to get a game together. We will have to figure out teams and know who would like to play. There will be some kid fun too.

Nothing in July
Between the 4th and 24th, July is busy enough

August 6&7 (Friday & Saturday) ... Ward Campout
We haven't picked a place yet. Anyone have any ideas? We would also like to see more families there. Even if you don't have a tent trailer... pitch a tent and make some friends. We'll be in a tent! Can anyone suggest a purpose of getting together? In our other ward, it was patriotic and we retired a flag.

September 17 @ 6:30pm (Friday)... Adult Formal Dinner
Title says it all!

October 29 @ 6:30pm (Friday)... Halloween Carnival & Soup and Scone
Title says it all!

November 12 @ 4pm (Friday)... Multi Cultural
We thought that it would be great to learn about other countries. Those that served missions in other countries... or even a different state (example: southern states) to volunteer.

December 10 @ 6:30pm (Friday)... Back to Bethlehem
Family Christmas dinner. Simple. Back to why we celebrate Christmas. I'm really excited about this one.

If you have any suggestions/ideas, let me know. I would love to hear them. Thanks!
Sarah
